All the usual ingredients were present-a tormented lead character, a world-weary detective and a beautiful love interest, but there was far more to this novel than your usual crime drama. I found it to be a tense, tension building psychological thriller that held me on tenterhooks until the very last page.
The tale provided both psychological insight and dialogue that was sharp and realistic. I quickly became absorbed by the unfurling story and hence the pages flew by effortlessly.
A very good novel to pick up if crime/psychological thrillers are your book of choice.
